This website and its associated tools are provided by the New Zealand Institute for Bioeconomy Science (“BSI”). By accessing or using this site, you agree to the following terms, which may be updated periodically.

Use of the On-Farm Emissions Calculator

The On-Farm Emissions Calculator is provided by BSI to support emissions estimation for New Zealand farm systems. Use of the calculator is subject to the following conditions:

  • Ownership: The calculator, including its brand, software, and outputs, is owned by BSI. All rights are reserved.
  • Access: Users may access the calculator anonymously or through a registered account. Some features may be limited or unavailable to anonymous users.
  • Data Handling: BSI does not retain personal or farm-specific data from anonymous sessions. Registered users may choose to save inputs and outputs, which are stored securely and used only for the purposes explicitly stated.
  • Use Restrictions: Unauthorised reproduction, modification, or distribution of the calculator or its outputs is prohibited. Use does not grant any rights to the underlying software or branding.
  • Updates and Availability: BSI retains full control over updates, licensing, and permitted use. Availability and functionality may change without notice.
  • User Responsibilities:
    • Users must not misrepresent calculator outputs, use the tool for misleading or unlawful purposes, or attempt to interfere with its operation.
    • Outputs are intended for indicative use only and are not guaranteed for any specific use and should be interpreted in that context.
    • Registered users are responsible for maintaining the security of their login credentials, including the email address used to access their account and generally for any usage of their user credentials. BSI is not liable for unauthorised access resulting from compromised user credentials.
    • We reserve the right to restrict or revoke your access at any time, with or without giving you notice, if you breach these terms and we reasonably consider that the breach may have a negative impact on BSI.

Disclaimer

The calculation generated by the On-Farm Emissions Calculator is based solely on the data inputted by the user. BSI makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of either:

  • (i) the data entered by the user, or
  • (ii) the resulting output produced by the calculator.

Users are solely responsible for ensuring the correctness and currency of all input values. The resulting output is provided “as is” for general informational purposes only and does not constitute professional advice, nor is it a substitute for independent judgement.

BSI accepts no liability for any errors, omissions, or reliance placed on the output by users or third parties. The accuracy and reliability of the calculation are strictly dependent on the quality of the data provided. No guarantees are made regarding the correctness or completeness of the results.
